RoseBlood demo recording update…

8 Januarie 2007 at 2:34 nm (General)

This December in Ermelo,  I had the wonderful experience of spending a few hours recording Guitar and vocals in the studio of (Father & Son) Andrew and Niel Faure. Sound Engineer Theo Bodenstein was spot on in getting the right sound for the specific song I was recording. A man for grasping another person’s idea and making it his own… Thanks Theo…

So within the next 6 weeks or so, we’ll get back into the studio to record drums, bass and some more guitars for this song, “Won’t You”, and also to do  the other tracks as well. This time at James Porter’s Session Rooms in Somerset West.

Looking forward to get our songs to all you people out there!!

May you all have a fabulous 2007!!

 Love and Peace

Pre-production etc

9 December 2006 at 1:32 vm (General)

The Sunny African Sun is doing his part in inspiring my songwriting. Currently visiting family in Ermelo, Mpumalanga… Did some songwriting with friend Malinka Bryant… and we cooked some gooood stuff!

More importantly, things are gradually progressing towards the demo recording… Lots of pre-production these last 10 weeks in chosing the right songs and polishing them down.. Looking to get into a friend’s studio soon to record some guide tracks…

Stay tuned,

Rosey holiday season to y’all!!

FeedBack: Live Concert

3 November 2006 at 8:11 nm (Uncategorized)

Extraordinary!!!!! Live blew my mind away!!!!

The crowd wasn’t the most welcoming and there was an atmosphere of frustration all around.. People were waiting for Live to come onstage, others were unsatisfied with the seats/ standing places they got. The golden circle was way too big. All the golden circle tickets were obviously sold out, but the golden circle was filled with wide open spaces!!! Why?? Ask the organisers… Ask BIG Concerts. I was really unsatisfied with that, cause it felt like Apartheid. It didn’t feel like ONE Crowd. It was just thousands of noisy people! So Live did a great job to get this crowd psyched up in the end!! Everyone went crazy!! But I still feel like their great performance didn’t get the appreciation they deserved… Not from the Cape Townians, and not from the Organisers.. I’d rather fly up to Jo’burg to see them next time!!

I have further problems with the event organisers. I’m getting tired of this “6 toilets between 8000 people” thing! The lack of enough facilities ended up in a disgusting mess!! Ladies had to stand in the Gents cue for toilets, because their own cue was too long! People had to urinate into draught glasses, the bathroom was a total yellowish wet mess!! AAARGH!!!! YAKK!!! If that is the excellence that BIG Concerts put into their events, then I’d rather fly to the States to see any International artist again!! Has nobody ever heard about portable toilets?!! yaaaak!!

Nonetheless, Live was awesome and made me forget about my dirty shoes!!

BRAVO!!!!
